Release of Greening the Blue 2022 Report

On 14 December 2022Ā the United Nationsā€™ system launchedĀ its latest environmental sustainability report:Ā Greening the Blue Report 2022.Ā This edition of theĀ ReportĀ reveals UN entities are accelerating their efforts on environmental governance and environmental training.

Greening the Blue is a UNEP initiative to engage and support the UN System in the transition towards greater environmental sustainability in the management of its facilities and operations.

In alignment with theĀ Strategy for Sustainability Management in the United Nations 2020-2030, Phase I: Environmental Sustainability in the Area of Management, theĀ Greening the Blue Report 2022Ā provides UN system-wide and entity-level dataĀ for 2021Ā on environmental impact areas: greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, climate neutrality, waste, air pollution, water and wastewater, and biodiversity. As well as management functions: environmental governance, procurement, and human resources.

World Ozone Day 2022

The National Ozone Action Unit in collaboration with the Environmental Protection Agency undertook a series of public awareness activities in the Corentyne area during the period September 14-15, 2022 in observance of International Day for the Preservation of Ozone Layer. The theme for this year’s observance was “Montreal Protocol @35: Global Cooperation Protecting Life on Earth”

Our Team made an appearance on the Guyana Today Show on September 13, 2022 which allowed the Unit to inform the viewers about the importance of protecting the ozone layer and the significance of this year’s theme.
